The Shaw Prize  Award Presentation Ceremony 2009 was held on 7 October 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong. The Shaw Prize was awarded to the following winners:

• Prize in Astronomy was awarded to Professor Frank H Shu
• Prize in Life Science and Medicine was equally awarded to Professor Douglas L Coleman and Professor Jeffrey M Friedman
• Prize in Mathematical Sciences was equally awarded to Professor Simon K Donaldson and Professor Clifford H Taubes
